NIHR Participates in a Training Program on “International Mechanisms for protecting Women’s Rights”
The Secretariat-General of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) has participated in the training program on “International Mechanisms for the Protection of Women’s Rights”, organised by the Geneva Institute for Human Rights – Switzerland, on the side-lines of the 82nd session of the Committee on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW), and in the discussion of the Periodic Report of the Kingdom of Morocco and the United Arab Emirates 19-23 June 2022.
During the training course, a number of relevant issues were raised and discussed, including human rights values and principles, equality and non-discrimination based on gender, the United Nations system in the area of human rights, the international contractual and non-contractual mechanisms for the protection of women’s rights and training on practical action mechanisms of the course by attending the discussion of the reports of Morocco and UAE before the CEDAW, where the situation of women in the two countries was discussed at the UN headquarters in Geneva.
